Rowbotham rolls up for fine victory

JOSH Rowbotham won the double men’s roll-up at Cleobury Mortimer.

The event once again saw a great turn out over the two days.

Some great scores were posted, including Dean Carpenter who shot 37 points on the Saturday to take third place on count back.

Mark Fish recorded 38 on the Sunday to finish second.

But the weekend belonged to Rowbotham who shot 43 points by playing to his strengths and not missing a fairway.

He is another young player who is having lessons off head Cleobury professional Rob Watkins.

He said: “It has been a quiet summer for me, however the changes me and Rob have made are starting to work. I hope to get my handicap cut more and more in the coming weeks.”

Men’s roll-up final standings: 1 Josh Rowbotham 43 points; 2 Mark Fish 38; 3 Dean Carpenter 37 (CB).
