KIDDERMINSTER Carolians have had their hard work recognised after becoming the first club in the county to receive RFU accreditation.

Charlie Hemmings from North Midlands RFU attended a lunch at Marlpool Lane to hand over the nationally recognised mark of quality to KCs president Brian Pinner and captain Rob Delahay.

Only clubs who have demonstrated their ability to retain and develop players, coaches, volunteers and referees receive the accolade.

They must also have good quality facilities, management structures and have integrated into the community.

KCs are one of only 295 in England to have gained the RFU Accreditation.

The lunch was attended by Kidderminster mayor Councillor John Aston and Stephen Clee, who is leader of Wyre Forest District Council.

Sarah Powers and Andy Kilbride from St Catherine’s School, who KCs have worked closely with, were also present at the lunch.
