KIRSTY Jones bagged a hat-trick as Wyre Forest Phoenix Ladies saw off bottom side Welland 3-0 in the County Football League.

Welland’s goalkeeper was outstanding as she denied Chelsea Mudge, Kayleigh Turner, Kirsty Roberts and Kat Meredith in the opening 20 minutes.

However, the game was sealed in the second half with a treble from Jones, even though she failed to score from the penalty spot.

Her strike partner Chelsea Mudge was unable to hit the score sheet but was inspirational on the pitch, working tirelessly to create chances and assist her team-mates, which awarded her with player of the match The under-17s saw off Wordsley Wasps 3-2 to seal second place in the Stourbridge and District League.

Sadie Brown opened the scoring in the first half when she raced onto a poor pass by a defender.

After the break, Molly Maguire and Shannon Davis hit the target. The team can now focus on the League Cup.

Meanwhile, Wyre Forest Phoenix Raiders under-13s saw off their clubmates Wyre Forest Flyers under-12s and won 3-0 thanks to goals for Chloe Whyley and Ella Stokes.

Meanwhile, Wyre Forest Phoenix defeared Kinver Colts 3-0, with Kathryn Baylis (2) and Laura Brennan on target.
