DARCIE Hancocks made it three golds out of three tournaments so far this year when she defeated everybody in style at the Samurai Judo Club’s Girls and Women’s Open Tournament.

Laura Dangerfield was another impressive performer for the Kidderminster club with a brace of golds, while there were four more medals for the Samurai girls and ladies.

A series of maximum point wins took Hancocks, pictured, into her final against a strong girl from Yorkshire, but even this player was no match for her as she won in style with a maximum point throw.

Lauren Fletcher, competing for the first time at this level, did well to take a bronze after some tough contests.

Bryony Griffiths also claimed bronze after some very good wins against some strong players.

In the middleweights, Eleanor Arnull and Hetty Tinsdale, also fairly new to open grade events, did well in their category but finished just outside the medals.

However, Becky Hobby secured the bronze in the same weight group.

In the senior women’s section, two Samurai women took part.

In the brown belts section, Jess Sullivan earned the silver medal with five wins.

Dangerfield, in the black belts section, was on great form and won the gold.

She then impressively defeated players far heavier than herself in the open category to clinch her second gold.
