Kimberlin keeps the faith

IAN Kimberlin has told his Kidderminster Victoria players they must improve following their 69-run defeat to Knowle and Dorridge in Birmingham League Premier Division.
Despite the presence of Worcestershire opening batsman Matt Pardoe in their line-up Kidderminster could only muster 141 as they attempted to chase down a target of 210 for five.
Team boss Kimberlin said: “It’s the second week in a row that we’ve played poorly.
“We must have dropped four or five catches when Knowle and Dorridge were batting, which should have restricted them to a total of around 160.
“But even at 210, we would have backed ourselves to reach that target with the batting line-up we had at our disposal, but we struggled from the word go.
“Certainly our catching and batting needs to improve as we’ve now gone five games without a win.
“We just don’t seem to be able to put any batting partnerships together at the moment.
“However, I’m not losing faith with the players. It’s the same ones who took us to the top-of-the-table.”
Kidderminster Victoria travel to Barnt Green this Saturday and are boosted by the continued inclusion of Pardoe.
Former Pears strike bowler Chris Whelan also comes back into contention along with Ryan Derrick and Chris Pyke.
