Saddiq stars with bat and ball as Corbett hammer West Malvern

CHADDESLEY Corbett leapt back into second place by hammering West Malvern by 100 runs in Worcestershire League Division Four.
The hosts were put into bat after losing the toss and declared on 232-7 declared with Adam Turner (73) and Muhammad Sadiq (50) leading the way.
Chaddesley’s bowlers set about dismantling Malvern’s batting order, with Saddiq (4-32) and David Perry (3-13) dismissing them for 132 in 37 overs.
Chaddesley visit Halesowen away on Saturday (1.30pm start).
n Promotion rivals Cleobury Mortimer slipped to third after being held to a losing draw by leaders Old Vigornians.
James Manley struck 71 for Mortimer, who were dismissed for 175 all, and took four wickets as Vigs were kept to 128-9 in 37 rain reduced overs.
On Saturday they head to Barnards Green.
- Cutnall Green’s title hopes in Division Six are hanging by a thread as they now trail leaders Canon Frome by 40 points.
Frome would need to lose their last two matches against Redditch and Harborne, while Green must see off Netherton away on Saturday and Ombersley on August 31 (both 1.30pm start).
While Frome were held to a winning draw by Ombersley, Cutnall defeated Redditch by nine wickets.
Matthew Harris (4-8), Kevin Shuck (4-14) and Christopher Higgins (2-24) took the wickets as Redditch were dismissed for 66 in 32 overs.
Tom Watson top-scored with 24 runs as Green reached 67-1 in reply.
