Golden triple for super Darcie

SAMURAI’S Darcie Hancocks maintained her remarkable gold medal winning form as she bagged three at the Eastern Area Open.
The youngster had an easy run to gold in her own under-36 kilogram weight category and was then allowed to enter the under-40kg section as well.
Four more maximum point wins saw her take her second gold.
Organisers allowed her to step up to the older age section in the under-36kg section where she also clinched first place.
Hancocks then tested herself in the under-40s section and made it all the way to the final but had to settle for silver.
Nathan Gallacher was also in the medals in two categories, taking silver in his own under-34kg weight group and then bronze in the under-38kg category.
In the senior women, Laura Dangerfield had some excellent wins in the under-63kg section to finish fifth.
However, she was also allowed to enter the under-70 kilos category and went to claim bronze.

This now leaves Gallacher and Hancocks tied on 14 medals each at the top of the county medal table for 2013.
Lauren Fletcher leads the chasing pack with 10, while Leah Grosvenor and Dangerfield are on nine and Bryony Griffiths and James Hemer next on eight.
Meanwhile, Rob Alloway gave another excellent performance in both the seniors and the veterans section of the Salisbury Open, taking bronze in both divisions and also clocking up more points towards his second level black belt.
