STOURPORT Ladies completed a fine season in the National Conference North with a 2-1 loss at Durham.
With fourth place, their highest-ever league position in the bag, the Wyre Forest side faced a long trip to the North East.
Alice Freeman had fired the hosts ahead in the 16th minute.
But Stourport rallied after the break following a team talk from coach Mark Moss.
They equalised through Claire Pearson in the 44th minute.
It looked like the two sides would share the points until the hosts were awarded a penalty on the stroke of full-time, which Amelia Johnson convert to take the three points for the students.
The fourths were too strong for Ludlow in Worcestershire Division Two and ran out 4-1 winners.
Sophie Baron bagged a brace, while Ellie Wilkinson and Karen McIntyre also scored.
The sixths went down 2-1 at home to Harorne fifths in Division Three.
Teri Baron had bagged a leveller but Harborne won with a scrambled effort.
