THE girls from Wolverley’s Eclipse Martial Arts were in great form at the second Kwon Grand Slam tournament which was held at North Solihull Sports Centre.

Emma Jayne Morris, nine, won the points fighting under-37 kilogram weight category for nine to 15 year olds.

She saw off three opponents with her lightning fast counter punches scoring her numerous amounts of points.

Jessica Chance, 15, took silver in light continuous fighting 58kg weight category.

She easily fought her way to the final again like she did at the first of the slam events back in January but she faced a much heavier opponent this time around and was pipped to the gold medal.

Chance is still in contention to take the overall Kwon Grand Slam Series title after earning gold and silver in the first two tournaments.

Megan Smith, 11, earned silver in light continuous fighting under-51kg weight category for nine to 15 year olds.

Despite being one of the lightest in this category she reached the final, where she looked like she had overpowered her opponent. Unfortunately the judges deemed it not to be the case and awarded the win to her opponent.

The third and final slam tournament will be held on Sunday, June 8.

Chance and Smith will be appearing during April on full contact shows in the Black Country and Cardiff.
