MEMBERS of Cleobury Mortimer celebrated the club’s 21st anniversary with a Texas Scramble tournament on Saturday.

Early starters Tony Willets, Bob Lucas, John Westley and Paul Liggins thought they had done enough as they were leading all the way up until the afternoon tee times.

John Brazier, Pat Collins, Andy Galliard and Alex Brazier shot a 56.7 to miss out on top spot by a slender margin.

But the day, however belonged to Ian Dorrell, Rob Pinner, Jim Went and Andy Young, who recorded 56.3 and take top spot.

l Several Ladies from Ombersley Ladies played in Sapey GC’s Am-Am Open and achieved some good results.

Jane Brian, Mary Prior, Selena Williams and her mum Pat, came fifth overall with 65 points.

Prior also won longest drive in the bronze division on the fourth hole.

Andy Wright scooped the birdie sweep on the 11th hole.

Pauline Bryant won the day at the Past Lady Captain’s Away Day which was held at Bewdley Pines, and Joyce Duncan took the longest drive.
