THERE were some excellent results for TRiKS members at the European Championships in Kitzbuhel, Austria.

Lenka Moore made her Great Britain debut in the sprint event and had to endure heavy rain and unseasonably cold conditions on a demanding course but managed to finish an excellent 15th in her age group.

Two days later, this time in contrastingly glorious sunshine, Graham Thorley and Caroline Cresswell competed in the standard distance event and finished in highly respectable results of 36th and 25th in their respective age groups.

Thorley had qualified for the event with a good performance in Southport.

But the standout performance of the TRiKS triathletes over recent weeks goes to Jan Flavell-Raybone who took on the Wimbleball Half Ironman, which is crowned the hardest Half Ironman in the UK.

She overcame her fears of open water swimming to race the thousands of other competitors.

She completed a 1.9 kilometre swim, before taking on the test of a gruelling 56 mile bike course over the hilly terrain of Somerset, and then tackled the brutal half marathon in the heart of Exmoor National Park.

Flavell-Raybone crossed the finish line in seven hours and 51 minutes, which is a fantastic achievement and is now focusing on her next challenge.
