COOKLEY lost by three wickets to Worcestershire League Division Two leaders Burghill and Tillington.
After been put into bat against the league leaders, Al Ray took the game to Burghill’s Kiwi overseas opening bowler with a superb 63 from 62 balls.
Despite Mark Bennett’s 51 and late cameos from Jackie Taylor (34) and Gary Mills (24), the innings petered out to 255.
Burghill knocking off the total to win by three wickets with 14 balls to spare.
Cookley are at home to Bewdley on Saturday and Malvern on Monday (both games 1pm start).
The seconds lost to relegation rivals Belbroughton.
Mike Wood struck 88 runs as Cookley made 189-4 in their 50 overs.
