CYCLING: Wyre Forest CRC completed their Summer road season with a hill climb championship held at Kingswood near Abberley.

Continuing the good form he has shown in the latter part of the season, Steve Vanes took the win by a few seconds from Andy Overton with Oliver Rolinson, 18, taking the final podium position.

Fastest on the evening was Beacon RCC rider Richard Bussell who finished with a time just five seconds short of the record while Natasha Cutmore, of RST, set a new mark for the Ladies.

While most of the club’s time trial racers have finished their season Justin Walters continued with a ride in VC Sevale’s latest 10-mile race finishing third in a time of 22 minutes and 51 seconds, which took half a minute off his previous best for the course.

In the same race Lucy Walters took almost two minutes off the ladies course record in beating her previous best by two minutes with a time of 25-42 for 12th place.
