LADIES FOOTBALL: Wyre Forest Phoenix made a good start to the Women’s Regional League with a 7-0 thrashing of Redditch United.

Kat Meredith, Kirsty Roberts (3), Melissa Zaffino and Molly Maguire (2) hit the back of the net on a one-sided clash.

The Under-13s took an early lead against Evesham United thanks to a goal by Chloe Reading but the Robins hit back to win 3-1.

Wyre Forest Phoenix Under-15s went goal crazy as they hammered Sedgley Scorpions 15-0.

The team have made a smooth transition to the 11-a-side game as Charlotte Morri, Ellie Jones (2), Erin Price, Fleur Connolly (4), Lucy McLatchy (4) and Sydney Harris (3) hit the back of the net.

In the Under-18s, Wyre Forest started the new season with a 3-1 defeat at Coundon Court.

Kay Baylis hit the back of the net to hand Phoenix the lead but Coundon levelled before the break and went onto win the game with two second half goals. Player of the match was Katie Smith who was solid for 90 minutes.
