STOURPORT Ladies are still waiting for their first win of the season in the Investec National Western League after they suffered a 3-2 loss at home to Gloucester.

The Wyre Forest outfit are second from bottom after losing their first three games of the season.

In this closely-fought contest, Gloucester took the lead after Zoe Burford scored the first of her three goals, after 18 minutes from a well-worked short corner; the home side finished the half strongly though and equalised with a fine individual goal by Nicola Moss in the 27th minute.

Stourport continued their strong form in the second half, taking the lead through Irene Johnson in the 40th minute.

Stourport continued to create some good opportunities to increase this lead, but were unable to take them.

Glouscester on the other hand showed why they are unbeaten so far this season when they scrambled home an equaliser in the 53rd minute through Burford.

Burford then completed her hat-trick with a fine solo goal bursting from the half way line and leaving the Stourport keeper stranded to secure the points.

They go to Firebrands in the league on Saturday (noon start).

In Worcestershire Division One, the thirds stormed to a 6-0 victory over Evesham and Badsey, with Fran Moss(2), Neala Brennan, Hannah Johnson, Emma Pollack and Stacey Jones scoring.

In Division Three, the fifths drew 1-1 with Bournville seconds, Bianca Homer bagging a leveller.

l Stourport Men recorded a 6-3 win over Stone.

Dan Petrie bagged two goals before David Knott scored a third for Stourport.

The score was 3-1 at half-time but Stone scored a second early after the break.

Knott bagged the fourth goal and Stone made it 4-3 but Simon Claris added a fifth and Knott completed his hat-trick.
