WYRE Forest Phoenix went down 5-2 to Welland Ladies in the Midwest Counties Female Football League.

The team produced a disappointing display away from home as they were out fought in all areas.

Mellissa Knott scored a close-range strike, while Mollie Plant made it two goals in as many games with a well struck effort.

Wyre Forest will be looking for revenge against Welland in the County Cup.

Meanwhile, in the West Midlands Regional League, Phoenix lost 3-0 to Lye Town.

Wyre Forest Phoenix Raiders Girls under-10s hit the goal trail as they hammered Kewford Eaglers 12-1.

Abi Reeves bagged a hat-trick and Rosie Lawley grabbed four goals, there also strikes for Isabelle Gibbons (3) and Libby Drapier (2).

The under-11s were edged out 2-1 by Kewford Eagles South.

Olivia Wood had fired them ahead in the first half but Eagles hit back before the break.

A long range strike then saw them trailing despite a battling display.

Girl of the game went to Megan Hancher for her constant tackling, positive attitude and good clearances from the back.

Wyre Forest Phoenix’s under-13s suffered a 4-0 defeat at the hands of Dudley Sports.

Keeper Bethany Savage produced a number of good saves but Dudley scored two goals in each half.

Wyre Forest Phoenix Flyers under-14s got the better of Gornal Girls 4-0.

Sydney Harris opened the scoring after a good pass from Fleur Connolly.

Connolly bagged a second and Lucy McLatchy smashed home a third.

Connolly then made sure of the win with Phoenix’s fourth in the 30th minute.

The under-18s went down 5-1 to Gornal in the Central Warwickshire League.
