WYRE Forest Under-14s played their part in a thrilling encounter, only to lose 4-2 to Solihull Moors.
Solihull scored twice in the first five minutes to take them into an early lead.
Forest hit back when Fleur Connolly’s accurate free-kick got them back into the game.
Solihull then restored their two-goal advantage before Lucy McLatchy made it 3-2 when the Moors’ goalkeeper spilled her cross.
Solihull then bagged a fourth goal early in the second half, but Donnelly crashed her effort against the bar.
Meanwhile, the club’s Under-9s played their first ever game together in the Mercian League against Warndon Villages.
Although it was hard work for them on a big pitch, they played incredibly well together and showed they will keep playing with smiles on their faces.
It was a great game to watch and in the team’s first match they scored their first goals courtesy of Grace Gallagher-Kennett and Holly Durbin. Ella Ward was Forest’s player of the match.
