MEMBERS of Bewdley TAGB were in good form at the Taekwondo British Championships in Worcester.

The standard was high on the day, but 13 medals were won by local heroes.

The Orme family lead the way, with dad Shane and his children Blaiz and Paris competing in both individual and team events to win six of the 12 medals up for grabs.

Blaiz, nine, took two bronze medals, while 14-year-old Paris earned a bronze and a gold in the individual and team categories respectively.

Their father did them very proud, winning gold in the executive men’s division for over-40s and then joined with fellow taekwondo dads, Callum Swift and Neil Meredith to claim three more bronze medals in the men’s team event.

Neil Meredith also claimed another gold trophy for his individual sparring event, despite just missing his weight and having to move up a division last minute.

Rosie Ashmore won a gold medal in the team sparring.

Newcomer and local mother Laura Whittall only joined TAGB in September after seeing a Bewdley TAGB demo team at a summer fete.

In front of her young boys, she won her first gold medal in the individual sparring then joined forces with training partner Amelia Swift to bring in the last two bronze medals.
