STOURPORT Men record back-to-back weekend wins to keep them battling on two fronts.

On Saturday, the Wyre Forest outfit were held to a goalless first half but turned up the heat after the break as their hard work on the training ground paid dividends.

Dan Petrie opened the scoring on 46 minutes with a shot from an acute angle but Button made it 1-1.

Andy Cavendish bagged Stourport’s second but once again, their rivals levelled.

But Cavendish completed his brace and Peter Clarke sealed the points for Stourport with a fourth goal.

Victory ensured they remain top of Midlands Division One.

Stourport then had a trip to Burton on Sunday in the EHA Trophy.

Despite missing several players, Simon Claris opened the scoring with a finish from a tight angle.

He then added a second goal from a penalty corner.

Burton bagged a reply but a brace for Chris Hill in the second half and an effort from Adam Leek ensured Stourport booked their place in the quarter-finals, where they are set to play Guernsey at home on March 1.

Guensey are the current holders and losing finalists for the two years prior to that success in this competition.
