THE ladies were on target at Wyre Forest Company of Archers’ annual Open Portsmouth tournament at Stourport Leisure Centre.

More than 100 archers from across the Midlands competed and while several members of the hosts were in contention for medals it was the Ladies who took top honours.

In the Junior Ladies U12 Recurve competitionl Lauren Turner won gold with a score of 463 which also won her the best overall U12 trophy.

Lindsey Brazier took the silver medal in the Ladies Compound with a score of 561 while associate member Penny Neaverson won gold in the Ladies Longbow with a score of 288.

In the Gents Compound there was a B class medal for fourth-placed Scott Potter with a score of 574 and a C class medal for Richard Maw, who scored 555.

In the Gents Recurve, Tim Green just missed a bronze medal by three points with his score of 568, but was rewarded with a C class medal for his effort.

Wyre Forest Company of Archers placed third in the Team Trophy with 2242.
