THE latest round of the PGA alliance saw three teams from Cleobury head on over to Kington Golf Club on what was a calm and sunny day.

Sam Pain and his team of Paul Jones, Andy Thomas and Roger Evans rallied on the back nine to shoot 84 points and claim fourth spot in the team event.

Pain's level-par score of 36 points, including a three-under-par back nine saw him take fourth spot and finish two off the lead from Shrewsbury’s Simon Jones.

Cleobury B managed to register their first order of merit points this season, with Dave Balmer and Guy Taylor making birdies and nett birdies for fun on the front nine and the experienced Ian Dorrell produced a one-under-par back nine to propel the team in to second place on 85 points.

In the amateur event, Amy Millward continues to be one to watch. High on confidence after a productive and successful winter on the golf course, Amy made six birdies on her way to 39 points and take second spot.

Millward's team consisting of Alan Hall, Bob Barlow and Keith Gardner finished just short in the team event.
