CYCLING: A resurgent Justin Walters won the latest round of the midweek time trial championship for Wyre Forest.

Wyre Forest also saw off a host of other clubs to come out tops in the first round.

In the Stratford CC-promoted ten- 10 miles time trial, Walters recorded 21 minutes and 53 seconds for ninth place from an entry field of 84 riders, with Jon Howard 14th in 22-09 closely followed by Steve Vanes (22-20.) Lucy Walters gave another strong performance placing 44th in 24-29.

The junior riders were also in action over the weekend, with Aimee Lane securing second place in the Under-12 girls' race at Curborough despite being baulked by several crashed riders.

Charlie Boddice finished 13th after getting caught up in one of several the crashes.

At the Sundorne circuit, near Shrewsbury, it was business as usual for Lane sealed with another victory while Ben Lawrence just missed out on a podium with fourth place in a sprint finish and Oliver Bill finished mid pack in a very fast under-16s boys race.
