ROWING: With the disappointment of Shrewsbury Regatta being cancelled due to high river levels, it was left for Stourport to bring home the winning tankards at Worcester and Nottingham Regatta last weekend.

Both junior and senior crews were pitted against some of the top clubs in the UK including Leander Rowing Club.

In the J15 1x event, Sam Branford won his heat and then dominated the final, while Jasmine White came second in her first heat.

The Junior 12 Quad, racing at a higher age group in the J13 event, won impressively and were coxed by Maddie Hill for the first time, while in the J12 single scull event, Dan Glover won easily.

In J12 1x, Molly Clarke pipped an opponent from Ross and in the 13 2x, Amie Furminger-Burrows and Lauren Rhodes won their first round, but were beaten by a strong Ross crew in the final.

Katie Sweeney pulled off a great race to win in the junior 13 her first ever event in this category.

For the senior crews, Tim Haywood picked up his novice win in the double sculls, racing with Pete Spencer to pick up the Masters C title and in the Master C4+ event.

There was an impressive win by three lengths in the W.MasC4+ event for Sharon Jones, Jo Fuller, Alison Edwards, Annie Conway and cox Leslie Beddow.

At the Nottingham Junior and Masters Regatta, Duncan Gwilliam notched up another win in the elite single sculls and the junior age categories performed well with second places in J15.
