STOURPORT overcame adversity to get the better of Evesham by eight wickets in Worcestershire League Division One.

Severe traffic congestion in and around Evesham led to the Wyre Forest side taking the field with just seven men.

The late arrival of opening bowler Lee Waldron saw part-time bowler Michael Pratt taking the new bowl and returned superb figures of 3-32 from his ten overs.

Tight bowling helping restrict Evesham to 200-7 from their 50 overs.

In reply, Stourport set off at a blistering pace before being slowed down in the middle of the innings, with Pratt completing a man of the match performance with 84 and Kevin Renecke continuing his brilliant form guiding Stourport to victory in the 45th over with 77 not out.

This Saturday third play fourth as Stourport entertain Wyre Forest rivals Cookley (1pm start).

The seconds lost for the first time this season as they were comprehensively beaten by Evesham A stunning 127 from Spencer Colley could only take Stourport to 219, as the next highest scorer was David Pittaway with 23.

In reply Evesham cruised to victory in the 40th over for the loss of three wickets.

Stourport thirds edged out Tenbury Wells in a thriller Batting first three wickets each for Laurence Neil. Charlie Foley and Mark Gleeson helped restrict Tenbury to 205.
