KIDDERMINSTER Victoria's superb six game winning run in the Birmingham League Premier came to a crashing halt when they were thrashed by 205 runs by defending champions West Bromwich Dartmouth.

In what was the most surprising result of the weekend, KVCC failed to replicate their excellent form and did not compete against last year's table toppers, who had endured an inconsistent start to the summer.

The visitors were on top throughout the game, with some outstanding individual performances with both bat and ball, particularly from Kadeer Ali.

KVCC won the toss and elected to field and early success came when Michael Hill took a return catch to dismiss Ruki De Silva for four.

The score had risen from 13-1 to 53-2 inside 12 overs when Hill struck again, having Bazit Zaman caught by keeper Tom Kimberlin for 18.

That was the start of an onslaught that brought 127 runs inside 27 overs with a stand between Ali (89) and Brinder Phagura.

Ali was bowled by Gareth Williams having struck eleven 4s and a six.

Phagura was joined by Sarmad Bhatti and another good partnership soon developed.

This produced another century stand (118), which ended when Bhatti was bowled by skipper Matt Pardoe for 67.

The West Brom man had faced 50 balls, hitting seven fours and three sixes. The two batsmen had scored these runs in just 14 overs.

KVCC had a bit of respite when Nathan Round claimed the wicket of Mohammed Sajid (4) with a catch by Richard Kimberlin.

Finally, Phagura on 116 was run out by an excellent throw by Richard Kimberlin. The batsman had faced 120 balls, striking fifteen fours and one six.

A second catch by Tom Kimberlin gave Williams his second wicket when Aqsad Ali was out for seven. The not out batsman was Rawlston Tappin who had scored one.

Williams and Hill had taken two wickets each with Pardoe and Round both taking one.

Kidderminster’s reply did not go well with the first five wickets going down for only 31 runs.

Pardoe (5), Andy Kimberlin (7). Hill (0), Craig Wood (4) and Wright (0) could not better the bowling of Arron Patel, Ali and Hafeez Khan.

Only one batsman made any great progress, with Round scoring 33 before he was caught by Zaman bowled Khan.

The tail end did score some runs, almost gaining a bowling point, but it was not sufficient.

Andrew Siwicki (18), Richard Kimberlin (11), Charlie Stainforth (13) Gareth Williams (8) and Tom Kimberlin four not out.

Ali (4-33), Arron Patel (2-14) and Hafeez Khan (2-29), together with Aqsad Ali and Bhatti taking one wicket each proved to be too good on the day, yet Kidderminster remain top and visit second-placed Walmley next Saturday (noon start).
