JON Howard set the tone with a fine win in the latest round of the Wyre Forest CRC TT Championship.

A stiff headwind on the drag to the finish did not seem to affect the fast men in the latest round, held on the Great Witley course, with Howard setting a personal best of 22 minutes and 44 seconds.

This was Howard’s second consecutive win in the competition, after success last week.

Birmingham University rider Oliver Hayward also posted a PB on his new time trial bike.

Andy Overton showed he doesn’t need a specialist time trial bike as he mixed it with the low pro riders to consolidate his position at the top of the road bike category.

There was another top 10 finish for Justin Walters in the Redditch Road and Path CC promoted 10 miles time trial at Salford Priors when he placed seventh from an entry of 87 riders in a time of 21.15, a personal best for the course.

He was followed by Stuart Walker (19th in 22.47), Paul Gibson (39th in 24.01) and Lucy Walters – who finished 42nd and third lady with a time of 24.18.
