MEMBERS of the Jaguar Land Rover Powertrain Paddlers crew were celebrating after winning Stourport Boat Club’s Works Fours event at the weekend.

Over 40 teams competed in four divisions, with the winners of each racing through their semi-finals to race in the grand final.

Despite a rainy start to the day, the competitors and club members threw themselves in to the spirit of the event and kept the enthusiasm going all day.

In the Women’s division, the G&T crew finally overcame the Ninja JACCS in their heat after a dead heat and a re-row, but were beaten to the post by the Hungry Hungry Hippos team who had a super row in the final of the division The Pubs and Clubs saw a battle between two sisters Abigail Worton from the Blood, Sweat and Beers Again crew and Lucy Worton of Lifebuoys and Girls in the semi-final.

After a ferocious row, Worton took the honours and was the victor on this occasion.

Blood, Sweat and Beers Again crew went on to win the pubs final against the Crazy Capers who put up a valiant fight right to the line.

Meanwhile, Putting Green, who were pipped to the line in their first heat by Shock’n’Oars, went on to have some great races and won the repêchage division by just beating the Ninja JACCS in their final.

After making their way through to win the final of the works division, JLR Powertrain Paddlers then had two very closes races against Blood, Sweat and Beers Again and Putting Green to win the overall winners trophy.

A victory only made sweeter by the news they had raised £150 for Air Ambulance by taking part.
