SAMURAI hit the opposition for six with six gold medals at their open junior orange belt and under championships.

The Wyre Forest club also bagged four silvers and 11 bronzes as their 22 medal haul saw them top the standings.

Harrison Flello made a fine debut with bronze in the lightest boys' category, while Aiden Maguire reached his final and secured Samurai's first medal of the day.

Newcomers Ben Wilkes and Stuey Main won bronze and silver respectively in their category.

In the lightest of the girls lower grades Alannah Martin reached the semi-final she lost to a Bristol girl and had to settle for bronze.

In the same weight section, Lola Grosvenor, younger sister of club-mate Leah, added another bronze to the club’s tally with indications of more to come in the future.

The last Samurai member to compete in the lower grads was Cerys Jones in the next weight category, which picked up a bronze.

In the first of the boys higher weight groups, Dillon Walker reached the final but settled for silver, while in the next weight section Evan Turner and Jake Ashen bagged respective bronze and gold.

Callum Spencer was on good form in his category and defeated an opponent from Worcester by to take gold.

Thomas Hardy won two bronzes in different age sections.

Spencer Benton and Jack Walker both made the final to ensure gold and silver for Samurai in the next weight group after two good wins each, but the latter edged the encounter.

There was silver for Callum Fletcher also powered to a final to take silver and was joined on the medal rostrum by clubmate Luke Talbot.

In the girls higher grades, Felicity Warburton-Harris took on more experienced fighters to win bronze.

Ellie McAteer dispatched all of her opponents with a series of excellent wins to take the gold.

Sophie Pollitt and Ellie Warburton-Harris were both in the same weight category, with the former winning the club's sixth gold.
