KIDDERMINSTER Victoria juniors are continuing their good run across the age groups with plenty of displays of fine and developing play.

The U11s faced Old Edwardians away with the opposition scoring 115-7 off 20 overs which seemed a good score until the KVCC batsmen chased down the total in 18.2 overs, scoring 68 off the last eight to win in style.

Cameron Billings retired on 30, Tom Powell (U9) scored 19, Jack Meese (15) and Dylan Griffiths (21) not out. Sam Shaverin took 3-10 off three overs.

It was another win for the U11s against Alveley, in an 11-a-side contest with KVCC finishing on 106 for 2 off 20 overs with the opposition managing just 86-3 in reply.

Cameron Billings top scored with 26 not out, while in the bowling Sam Shaverin had the tightest figures, conceding just seven runs in three overs, while Josh Whittall claimed the only wicket.

The other two wickets were run outs, down to excellent fielding by Tom Powell and Dylan Griffiths taking the opener and number 4 respectively.

The U11s played again against OEs in a pairs match at their ground last week, scoring 280 net in 16 overs after losing just one wicket, while OEs managed a net score of 251-7. Highlights included Whittall (15 not out) and Tom Powell (3-15).

The U13s entertained OEs in the cup the next night and were put to the sword as their opponents posted 191-1 off 20 overs.

In reply, a lack of depth in batting was obvious at 76 all out. Joe Miszkowski (26) and Matt Hatfield (15) top-scored.

The U15s capitulated in the second round of their cup competition. After restricting OEs to 133-7 off 20 overs, despite having at least five batsmen capable of scoring 50, they were bowled out for 62. Only Ryan Wheldon reached double figures with 21.

The U11s pairs team easily over came Stourport, scoring 111-2 against 85-2, with Whittall and Dylan Griffiths top-scoring on 16 each.

The U13s pairs team were outclassed by Barnards Green, losing by 32 runs, but followed this up with two good victories against Worcester CC and Ombersley.

The U12s Premier match against Ombersley was a disappointing ended in defeat despite James Candia-Massey, Miszkowski and Matt Hatfield all retiring on 30.

However, the U12s beat Martley away in the league competition, scoring 85-7 off 16 overs, surpassing the opposition’s 84-4.
