STOURPORT suffered defeat at the hands of Coombs Wood in Worcestershire League Division Two.

In a rain reduced match, Coombes Wood batted first and posted 187-9 from their 33 overs.

Lee Waldron again the pick of the attack with 3-36, Craig Siwicki giving fine support with 3-46.

Further rain interruptions gave Stourport an adjusted target but the loss of cheap wickets saw Stourport always behind the run rate.

Chris Parry the only batsman to return with any credit with a hard earned 64 not out.

Stourport eventually finishing 30 short of their victory target.

This Saturday, Stourport entertain Lye (1pm start).

Meanwhile, Stourport remain comfortably at the top of Division One as they cruised to victory against Pedmore's second string.

Batting first,Pedmore scored 201-9 from their 50 overs.

With time lost during the first innings, Stourport were set a reduced victory target of 188 which they passed with ease in just the 29th over.

Spencer Colley (74) and Ian Delo (48) the pick of the victorious side's batting.

Stourport thirds thrashed their Barnt Green counterparts by 215 runs.

James Cook (77), Harry Downes (68) and Charlie Foley (42) guided them to a huge 346-6 from their 50 overs.

In reply, 4-48 from Laurence Neil and 3-39 from Josh Harrison saw Barnt Green dismissed for just 131 in the 32nd over.
