IMPRESSIVE Cookley made it four wins on the bounce and maintained their 100 per cent home record in Worcestershire Division Two this season, with an excellent win over Worcester Dominies and Guild.

After being put into bat, Cookley made 282 in their innings, with Jon Stanaway (102) scoring his first century for the Villagers.

He was supported by Paul Thomas (39), Khienan Morissey (33) and the evergreen Mark Bennett (38).

In reply, Dominies got off to a flyer, until Jaimen Rudd (3-26) dismissed Stephen Miles (59).

Debutant Matt McCann (4-33), then accounted for the Dominies middle order and from then on in, Cookley looked comfortable winners.

With the league at the halfway stage, Cookley remain in second place, 15 points behind Bredon, and they entertain Evesham at Lea Lane next week.

Seconds put the disappointment of the previous week’s last over loss behind them in emphatic style away at Avoncroft.

After winning the toss, Cookley elected to bat and the decision appeared well justified as Cookley amassed 362 in their 50 overs.

Ben Quinlan was the main tormentor of the Avoncroft attack, and struck a magnificent first century for the club (128).

He was ably assisted by Callum Parker, 17, with an explosive 79, his first half century for the club, along with a quick-fire 57 from Adam Matthews.

Avoncroft closed on 252-5, with Jason Huxley (96) and Jon Bird (67) being the main contributors with the bat, with 15 year old Tom Pinder impressing with 3-60.

In Division Seven, the thirds lost to Droitwich by 161 runs.
