SEVERAL members of Wyre Forest Company of Archers enjoyed a successful Sheriff’s Western tournament promoted by Stourbridge Company of Archers at the weekend.
Shooting four dozen arrows at 60 yards and 50 yards, Martin Preece placed third in the Gents Recurve with a score of 770, which included 96 hits and 60 golds.
In the Ladies’ Recurve, Melissa Smallman took first place with 718 points, 96 hits and 38 golds.
There was also a second place in the compound categories for Dave Brazier, who recorded 816 points, which included 96 hits and 74 golds.
Lindsey Brazier had a similar number of hits and golds in the Ladies for a total of 818 points as she wet onto clinch second place.
Shooting a Short Junior Western over 30 and 20 yards, Heike Palmer was a clear winner of the Girls’ Recurve and also best overall Junior with a score of 750 including 96 hits and 50 golds.
