BEWDLEY Town had a week best forgotten.

They suffered a 4-3 reverse against 10 men Wolverhampton Sporting Community on Saturday.

Then on Tuesday night they leaked a stoppage time leveller at home to Ellesmere Rangers and finished up with a 2-2 draw.

Bewdley spokesman Steve Godfrey said: "We should have been out of sight by the time Ellesmere equalised. We scored twice within three minutes through Liam Williams and Chris Seekings "Then we did everything but score in the second half. Ellesmere's goalkeeper pulled off a string of great saves while we hit the woodwork on three separate occasions.

"Ellesmere said we were the best side they've played this season, but that counts for nothing if you don't put chances away "If you don't take the chances that come, you always leave yourselves open!

Bewdley appeared on course for victory against Wolves Sporting when they led 2-1 thanks to goals from Chris Seekings and Russ Godfrey.

Victory looked a certainty when Wolves Sporting had Josh Sarmento sent off just after the half hour.

But Wolves Sporting had different ideas and despite their numerical disadvantage went 3-2 through goals from Alex Moore and John Letford.

Luke Morris got Bewdley back level again but Letford hit back with a late winner.

Tony Massey and Pete Checketts took charge of the side against Ellesmere in the absence of boss Phil Mullen.

They will remain in charge for Saturday's trip to Hereford based Wellington before Mullen returns for Tuesday's visit of Shropshire side Wellington Amateurs.
