WOLVERLEY grabbed a vital 9-9 draw against Frankley in the Cradley Men’s League.

In what was widely expected to be a difficult night all round, Wolverley showed steel to grab a crucial draw.

With a number of first-team regulars unavailable, the Wyre Forest side fielded players that had seen much reduced game time together.

However, this did not stop them going in search of their first win of the season following their draw two weeks ago.

In theWorcester Veterans' League Division Two, Wolverley veterans and Pitmaston battled out a 3-3 draw.

With a number of Wolverley players struggling with the visibility in the Pitmaston hall, the game was tight throughout and came down to the final rubber.

The team of Nigel Griffin and Stanford Reeves came back from a losing position to square it.

Both sides went home satisfied with a 3-3 draw.

In the Worcester Ladies' League Division Two, Wolverley displayed grit and determination to come away with a creditable 4-2 win against XDC.

The ladies took an early lead which banished any nerves that they may have felt and they never looked back.

The match was all the more remarkable after a flawless performance by Caroline Park, who won all of her matches having just completed the Birmingham half marathon.
