POCKETS S stormed to the top of the Kidderminster Monday Snooker League Premier when they beat Pockets B by four frames to one.
That was despite a 28 by Gareth Ward with Charlie Newey and Phil Dunn collecting two wins each in a fine win.
Franche A stormed into second with a solid team performance in their 4-1 win against Pockets A.
Pockets F are trying hard to close the gap after losing their opening two games, and last year’s champions have now won three on the bounce.
This week victims were Pockets E who lost the deciding doubles frame on the black. A bottom of the league clash saw Workmans B come out on top 3-2 to St Johns D Gavin Brown’s 22 clearance on the black to pinch a frame was key.
In Division One, there was a shock when previously unbeaten leaders Pockets D crashed 4-1 to Chester Road.
St Georges had a good win against high-flying St Johns E by three frames to two after a final frame doubles decider in which Lee Page knocked in a 34 break and Asim Riaz helped the team by collecting two wins.
St Johns C also won on a doubles decider after Aidy Palmer gave his team massive boost by winning both his frames.
Pockets C also won 3-2 against Wribbenhall with Alan Mathews and Arek Ziemkiewicz both winning two frames apiece for their respective sides.
