KIDDERMINSTER Harriers must win over disgruntled fans, insists chief executive Colin Gordon.

Supporters have become increasingly concerned by the Aggborough outfit’s form on the pitch and a six-game losing run.

The Reds are bottom of the Vanarama National League after 26 games and are 12 points adrift of safety.

Gordon said: “We've had a lack of identity over the four or five games for some reason.

“That’s down to a lack of confidence but supporters like to see their teams be aggressive and have a go and I don’t think we’ve done that since the loss to Grimsby.

"I am looking for an improvement from the team in terms of performance.

“Our supporters are intelligent and they’ve been kept in the dark too often in the past.

“We will always try and engage with our fans and communicate with them.

“If we don’t talk to our supporters then we’ll lose them and we can’t afford to do that.”

It’s been a busy week for the club with Harriers securing French starlets Ousmane Fane and Arthur Gnahoua as well as welcoming back Tyrone Williams from Hednesford.

Matt Young and Dino Fazlic have departed, while Kyle Howkins’ may well return for a second loan spell from West Bromwich.

The future of Reece Styche and Adam Dawson may also be decided. Dawson returned from his spell at Tranmere Rovers in December and needs a hernia operation, but Gordon said the Wirral outfit are keen to resign him.

Styche will have a back injury assessed after his loan at Macclesfield ended; the striker has not featured since November 14.

Harriers want to offload high wage earners to ease their financial worries.

Meanwhile, Gurjit Singh scored twice and trialist Kingsley Williams once as they went down 4-3 to a West Bromwich Albion Under-21s team, which featured England goalkeeper Ben Foster returning from injury.

With no league game on Saturday, Harriers play a Wolverhampton Wanderers side on Friday night (7.30pm ko).

They are then set to go to Braintree next Tuesday (7.45pm ko) in the National League.

Harriers’ trip to Cheltenham, which was called off on Saturday, has been rescheduled for January 19 (7.45pm ko).
