NATHANIEL Crowther was in the swim for Wyre Forest at the City of Birmingham Open Easer Meet.

The competition had awards for age groups and then finals for the top six junior and senior age groups.

Crowther, 12, entered seven events and qualified for the junior final in six, winning the 50 metre backstroke and taking second spots in the 100m and backstroke events.

He also took third place in the 100m individual medley, fourth in the 200m IM and sixth in the 100m freestyle. Adam Newey, 12, reached the junior final in the 50m backstroke and came sixth, while Eddie Cox, 11, took fifth in the junior 100m IM. John McMahon, 17, won the senior 50m butterfly and came fourth in the 50m backstroke. Harvey Thompson, 16, qualified for the senior final in the 100m IM and finished runners-up.

Wyre Forest posted 18 regional qualifying times, swimming against much larger clubs including the hosts and the City of Coventry.
