BEWDLEY Rowing Club won four medals at the inaugural West Midlands Indoor Championships.

The club earned three silver and a bronze as their hard work and effort paid off handsomely.

Every member of the squad who took part also set a new personal best.

With many of the team only having started rowing last year, this was an exceptional achievement for everyone.

The year 12/13 age section saw Bewdley dominate by taking take second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth and ninth places. Each of the boys took part in an individual event as well as the team competition.

With individual races for year 12 and 13 of 2,000 metres, Year 11, Year 10 and Year nine, the vast amount of time spent training indoors due to the river Severn flooding for much of the winter certainly paid off for everyone.

Bewdley again showed their strength in the adult ream events with a second place for Cameron Barratt, James Myatt, Brendan Wrighton and Sam Clifford, who were edged out by a strong line-up from Warwick.
