COOKLEY stay fourth in the Worcestershire County League Division One with a 134 run victory over Pedmore.

After being asked to bat, Jaimen Rudd and skipper Paul Thomas celebrated their call up to the League Representative XI with two fine innings of 64 and 67 not out respectively to post a competitive 240-5.

Then Aussie Jack McVey (6-50) supported by Danny Soley (3-44) as Cookley bowled Pedmore out for just 106 to win by 134 runs.

However, a late batting collapse resulted in the Villagers having to hold out for a draw The thirds remain top of Division Seven after cruising to a seven wicket victory over North Romsley.

Romsley also chose to bat but soon regretted it as they had no answer to the pace of young Tom Mayall (5-28) supported by veteran Brian Davies (4-13).

In reply, Liam Platt top scored with 28 as the required runs were quickly achieved although Tom Mayall’s day was somewhat spoilt by a golden duck.
