OLIVER Walker emerged on top to win the Stewart Smith Challenge Cup Open at Kidderminster GC.

The Bransford member saw off defending champions Mark Dudley and Luke Rogers in a play-off, sealing the silverware with a birdie three on the first hole.

Last Thursday, the club held the England Golf Boys County Championship Midland Qualifier. With 60 juniors taking part from 10 different counties, the standard of golf was exceptional.

The winning team was Northamptonshire, who defeated Staffordshire and Worcestershire.

The winning junior was Charlie Salter from Northamptonshire, beating Matthew Osborn from Worcestershire by one shot.
