YOUNGSTER Leah Grovesnor lead the way for Samurai Judo Club at the London Open.

Grosvenor added another gold to her collection, while club-mate Laura Dangerfield also took gold.

Olivia Turner and Rob Alloway added bronzes.

Grosvenor won all five of her contests by maximum score, and was even able to experiment with a couple of different moves she is building into her repertoire.

This makes seven consecutive gold medals she has won, six of them in major tournaments, and you would have to go back to last December to even find a contest which she did not win by maximum points.

In Britain, the in-form judo star has not conceded a score since September.

She has won England identification events, the Midlands Open and the North-West Open, as well as the Scottish Open, the Welsh Open, the British Championships.

She is also reigning British Kata Champion with her kata partner Darcie Hancocks.

Meanwhile, Dangerfield had four tough contests in the senior women’s category, all very experienced players.

Three good wins took her into the final against the British Army Champion.

Despite conceding an early score she then dominated the match and scored several times to win comfortably and take the gold.

Turner is having a tough year, having moved into an older age band and also being at the bottom of her weight category, but she just keeps battling away and two excellent wins gave her a bronze medal.

Rob Alloway added a further bronze in the veterans section of the competition and there were good performances from Matt and James Hemer and Jake Ashen.
