JOHN Eustace has urged new addition Mani Dieseruvwe to take the opportunity given to him by Kidderminster Harriers with both hands.

The 21-year-old hitman signed a one-year deal to become the latest new face at the Aggborough outfit.

Dieseruvwe, who is 6ft 5in tall, has had a nomadic career since emerging through the ranks at Sheffield Wednesday and has had spells at Hyde, Fleetwood, Chesterfield and Mansfield.

He ended last season at local rivals Mansfield Town, proving a thorn in the side of League Two back lines as the Stags chased the play-offs, netting a peach of a goal to earn them a point against Barnet back in April.

“We are going to give him the opportunity to score a lot of goals and it is down to him – if he takes that, fantastic,” said Eustace.

“We’ve done a lot of homework on him and Matt Gardiner has seen him play a lot of times and recommends him very highly. I think the whole club should be excited that we have someone like that coming in.

“League and National League clubs wanted to take him but he wants to come here and score goals, so you can’t ask for more than that, so let’s hope he does the business.

“I’ve said all along, I want people who are hungry, want to prove people wrong and want to make a point. Every player we sign needs to build into that.”

In another boost, attacker James McQuilkin has put pen to paper on a new deal. The former Hereford man, 27, ended the season in brilliant form and was joint top scorer with six goals.

So far, Kidderminster Harriers have Tyrone Williams, Wayne Thomas, Kennedy Digie, Ousmane Fane, Elton Ngwatala, Dan Sweeney, McQuilkin, Arthue Gnahoua, Zaine Francis-Angol, Andre Brown, Sam Austin, Dieseruvwe, Ben Clarke, Jordan Tunnicliffe, George Forsyth, Nathan Millichamp, George Taylor and James Hancocks contracted for the new campaign.

Meanwhile, chairman Co-lin Gordon has spoken with want away utility man Francis-Angol to clarify his position. The former Motherwell player is contracted for next season but caused consternation by telling the media in Scotland he was actively seeking trials at clubs north and south of the border.Meanwhile, preparations for the new campaign in the National North step up next week when pre-season training starts.
