KIDDERMINSTER'S winning run of three games came to a crashing halt after they were dismissed for 89 by Shrewsbury.

Shrewsbury won the toss and put visitors in to bat but they were all back in the pavilion after 33 overs, with only skipper Neil Pinner (27) and Liam Weston (18) putting up any real resistance.

Seven batsmen failed to reach double figures. Good bowling by Ed Foster with 4 for14 from 11 overs and two wickets apiece for Ed Barnard and Tyler Ibbotson ment the innings lasted just over two hours.

Shrewsbury lost a wicket in the second over when Will Parton (2) was caught by keeper Tom Kimberlin off the bowling of Chris Russell.

However that was to be the only success Kidderminster were to have, Shrewsbury took just 23 overs to reach 91 for 1

Batsmen Oliver Westbury (26) and Ed Foster (61, including ten fours) needed only 83 minutes to complete the win. Probably the best bowling came from Weston who conceded only 12 runs from his five overs.

Shrewsbury collected 20 points for their nine-wicket victory while sorry Kidderminster went home with nothing, the game lasted just 56 of the allotted 110 overs.

Next Saturday Kidderminster are at home to Leamington (noon), hopefully strengthened by the return of Matt Pardoe and Nathan Round.

KIDDERMINSTER Second XI remain bottom of Premier 2 after suffering a four wicket beating by Brockhampton.

Opening bat Sam Beadsworth struck 71 and found support from veteran Godfrey Lamb with 40 and Mike Mitchell who made 31 not out as Kidderminster posted a total of 249 for eight.

But it was not enough as Brockhampton responded by reaching 250 for six in reply after Glyn Harrhy and Oliver Rogoff both hit half centuries.

Ryan Wheldon proved the pick of Kidderminster's bowling by claiming two for 36 off seven over while Mike Mitchell took three for 83 from 15 overs.
