TRIATHLON: Jacqui Phillips defended her title to take gold for a second year at the British National Olympic distance event in Liverpool.

The Triathlon Kiddermin-ster and Stourport (TRiKS) member finished over four minutes ahead in the 45 to 49 age category.

Joining her on the podium in her first Olympic distance event was Cora O’Mahony in the 60 to 64 age group who won a bronze medal.

The men’s event saw TRiKS members compete in various age groups as they strived for European qualification places for next year’s event.

In the 50 to 54-year-old category, David Bennett came seventh in two hours and nine minutes, Graham Thorley was 10th in two hours, 11 minutes, while Austin Keenan was 37th in the 55 to 59-year-old section.
