RUSSELL Perks Martial Arts Academy (RPMAA) fighter Mathieu James tasted victory in an outstanding three-round thriller at Battle Arena MMA 40 fight night in Northampton.
James, who has been a long-standing RPMAA student for several years, had prepared long and hard for this up-and-coming fight against experienced fighter Johnathan Patrick from Combat Gym.
James won round one after a dominant display.
Round two was a very close battle and round three saw James take control of the fight and seal a unanimous points decision.
He said: “I would like to thank head coach Russell Perks and all the RPMAA MMA team in preparation leading up to this fight.
“We have a great team and spirit, I will be back next week in academy training ready for my next fight.”
