STOURPORT made a superb start to their Midland Men's Hockey Premier League campaign by pulling off a 4-2 win over local rivals Worcester.
Andy Cavendish cracked home a trademark short corner before Vince Richardson rifled home a debut goal to put Stourport 2-0 up inside the first 10 minutes.
Worcester responded after Stourport goalkeeper Alex Cook was sent to the sin bin by scoring twice to level matters at 2-2.
Liam Hennessey restored Stourport's lead before Worcester lost their discipline with two yellow cards and Cavendish duly clinched the points from a penalty stroke.
Stourport visit Khalsa in the Midland Premier League next Saturday and then entertain Birmingham University at Kingsway on Sunday in the England Hockey Men's Cup (12-30 start).
