BEWDLEY Town blitzed Bilston Town Community 4-1 but should have won by a much wider margin.
Chris Seekings and Jason Wellings both struck twice to seal the points but spokesman Steve Godfrey said: "We missed five or six clear cut chances in the first half and really should have wrapped the game up by the interval. Instead we only led 1-0".
Bewdley were missing prolific marksman Lewis Pountney who pulled a muscle in his back at work and faces a race against time to be fit for Saturday's visit from Malvern Town.
Matt Kirby cracked home a hat-trick for Bewdley Town Reserves but they lost out in a 4-3 thriller with Wolverhampton United in West Midlands League Division Two.
It could have been a different outcome but Tom Pepperell fired a stoppage time penalty against the post before Andy Wright followed up - only to hit the opposite post before the ball was cleared.
Steve Godfrey added: "There were only three players in the reserves who were over 20-years-old so we're trying to bring in a bit more experience.
"Craig Webb has promised to play but only after he's finished his half marathon running programme."
