FOLLOWING their success at the Midland and Worcestershire County junior championships, Ridgewood High School pupils Freya and Heike Palmer of Wyre Forest Company of Archers were soon in action at the Junior Inter County Challenge promoted by Droitwich Archery Society.

With a score of 1,252 including 28 golds in a Metric 4 Freya was the top scorer in the ladies recurve category with Heike top scoring in a metric 5 with 1,091 and 19 golds.

These scores contributed to Worcestershire's winning total of 6,868 comfortably beating Staffordshire, Warwickshire and Shropshire.

The sisters, from Stourbridge, helped Wyre Forest Company of Archers to team victory in the combined West Midlands Archery Society and County of Worcestershire Archery Association junior championships promoted by Redhill Archers at Wythall last month.
