KIDDERMINSTER Harriers will put their promotion credentials to the test this Saturday when league leaders AFC Fylde visit Aggborough.

Harriers are unbeaten in their last five games and now sit in fourth place in the National League North table.

Manager John Eustace is expecting a tough test against the league’s only unbeaten side but has backed his young guns to embrace the occasion.

He said: “It’s going to be a tough game for us and they have a very experienced squad. But we will approach it just the same as we normally do. It gives the players a chance to show what they do against a side that is in good form.

“The main thing is that we are competitive and show consistency in our performances. That is what we are looking for from the players.”

Meanwhile, the Reds go into the game after booking their place in the fourth qualifying round of the FA Cup with a 3-2 win at Lancaster City last Saturday.

Andre Brown bagged a brace on his debut for the club to help overcome the hosts.

Tyrell Waite also netted for his third goal of the season after being set up by James McQuilkin.

“I was very pleased with how we played,” said Eustace.

“We expected a difficult game because they had a good win in the previous round against Darlington.

“A big positive for us was Andre Brown’s two goals on his debut. He is another young players with a lot of potential and it was good to see him having the impact he did.”

Harriers will now face Weymouth at home in the next round.

The clash will take place at Aggborough on Saturday, October 15.

Eustace added: “It won’t be easy because they are a big club at this level and are playing with a lot of confidence at the moment. But we are happy to get a home draw and can hopefully look to progress.”

The Harriers boss has this week been linked to the vacant job at Coventry City. However, the former Sky Blues player says his full attention is on his task at Aggborough.

He said: “I haven’t applied for the job and not even thought about it to be honest.

“I’m fully focused on the job I have to do here at Kidderminster.”
