Harriers 6, Weymouth 0

HARRIERS eased into the first round of the FA Cup with a convincing victory over visitors Weymouth.

A brace from Tyrell Waite and strikes from Mani Dieseruvwe, Jordan Tunnicliffe, Arthur Gnahoura and substitute Liam Truslove saw the home side overwhelm their opponents at Aggborough.

Harriers started on the front foot and soon racked up early openings from corners.

Dieseruvwe headed powerfully against the woodwork after just four minutes before Tunnicliffe glanced an effort wide on seven minutes.

However, Weymouth soon settled down at the back to limit the hosts to further opportunities in the opening exchanges.

Harries continued to enjoy more of the ball but couldn't work clear cut chances.

But that superior possession eventually told when Dieseruvwe fired them in front just past the half hour mark.

Gnahoura fed it to the forward's feet, he turned and rifled past Thomas to break the deadlock.

Weymouth could have been level straight after the opener but Jake Wannell failed to convert from their first corner.

Instead it was Harriers that ended the half the stronger to take full control of the tie.

Tunnicliffe headed in a floated corner from Gnahoura on 42 minutes before substitute Truslove fired spectacularly home in injury time.

Truslove's strike was his fifth of the season, all from the bench, when he curled in a fine effort with the outside of his right foot.

Harriers began the second half where they left off and made sure they didn't take their foot off the gas.

Gnahoura made it four on 52 minutes when he fired low into the net after switching the ball onto his left foot.

Still Harriers came forward and Waite netted six minutes later when his low effort from the edge of the box found the bottom corner.

Waite then completed the scoring on 74 minutes when he curled the ball into the far post after cutting in from the left flank.

In truth, Weymouth were overwhelmed by a Harriers side that showed their ruthless streak in front of goal.

Not only did they enjoy superior possession throughout but we're able to turn that into goals and safely book their passage into the first round.
